Brian Miller

2010-2012

Brian Miller is a Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Linden Capital Partners, a Chicago-based healthcare and life sciences private equity fund.

He has been focused on healthcare private equity since 1998 when he was a founding member of the healthcare team at First Chicago Equity Capital (currently JP Morgan). Mr. Miller began his career in the investment banking division of Salomon Brothers, Inc. (currently Citigroup). He has served on a number of boards: BarrierSafe Solutions International, CORPAK Medsystems, HYCOR BioMedical, SeraCare, Life Sciences Strata Pathology, and Suture Express.

Mr. Miller holds a Bachelor of Arts with honors in Economics from Princeton University and an MBA from Harvard Business School with a concentration in healthcare. He is a Board Member of AdvaMedDx, the founder of Private Equity Analysts of Chicago, a Trustee of the Latin School of Chicago, and a member of the Economic Club of Chicago.

Joseph Ibrahim

Joseph is an Independent Investor and Board Member with Edge Healthcare Capital. Joseph is a highly experienced and successful healthcare private equity investor with fifteen years of successful middle market healthcare private equity experience, including responsibilities in deal sourcing, oversight of deal execution and portfolio management. Prior to Edge, Joseph was a Managing Director at Regal Healthcare Capital Partners. Prior to Regal, Joseph was a Managing Partner with MBF Healthcare Partners and focused primarily on investments in multi-site healthcare services buy and build strategies. Prior to MBF, Joseph worked at The Riverside Company and was responsible for the evaluation of healthcare acquisitions in North America, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region. Mr. Ibrahim received a B.A. from Vanderbilt University and MBA from Wake Forest University – Babock Graduate School of Management.

Michael Dal Ballo

Michael Dal Ballo

Michael is an Investment Partner at Pritzker Private Capital (“PPC”) leading the firm’s Healthcare sector investing.  At PPC Michael has overseen investments in Clinical Innovations, PathGroup and KabaFusion.  Prior to joining Pritzker Private Capital, Michael was a Managing Director at Blackstone Capital Partners, a multi-billion dollar private equity enterprise. During his tenure at Blackstone, Michael helped lead sourcing efforts in healthcare and insurance, investing billions of equity capital in 13 transactions. Michael also served on ten corporate boards, working with management teams to drive value through operational improvements, acquisitions and divestitures. Before joining Blackstone, Michael was an Associate at Hellman & Friedman where he was involved with the analysis and execution of private equity investments in the media and professional services sectors. Prior to that, Michael worked as a consultant at Bain & Company and also was a Research Associate at the China Center for Economic Research in Beijing, PR China as a Luce Scholar.

Michael earned an MBA from Harvard Business School, an MA from Oxford University where he was a Thouron Scholar and undergraduate degrees from the Wharton School and the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.

Craig Frances

Craig joined Summit Partners in 2003 and focuses primarily on the healthcare & life sciences sector.

Craig’s board directorships and investments include HealthCare Partners (merged with DaVita, NYSE: DVA), Integrated DNA Technologies (acquired by Danaher), Healthline Media (acquired by Red Ventures), National Veterinary Associates (acquired by Ares Management), BluePearl Veterinary Services (acquired by Mars Petcare), Independent Vetcare (acquired by EQT), MedSpring Urgent Care (acquired by Fresenius Medical Care), Physicians Formula (NASDAQ: FACE) and Solutionreach.

Prior to Summit, Craig was founder and manager of three successful companies. He was also the Chief Medical Resident at the University of California, San Francisco. Craig holds a BA in psychology, with honors, from Cornell University and an MD from Cornell University Medical College, where he was valedictorian and received the Paul Sherlock Prize, a peer-voted award for exceptional integrity and compassion in patient care. He is the creator of the Saint-Frances Series, medical books that are used extensively in academic centers across the United States.

Craig has numerous publications in leading journals, including the New England Journal of Medicine, and has collaborated with many national healthcare leaders. He serves as an advisor to the Cornell University Trustees Investment Committee regarding private equity, and he is a former President of the Healthcare Private Equity Association (HCPEA). Craig has been named one of the 40 Smartest People in Healthcare by Becker’s Hospital Review.

Managing Director, Global Head and Founder of healthcare private equity at Ontario Teachers’

Terry Woodward

Terry Woodward is a Managing Director and global head and founder of the healthcare private equity at Ontario Teachers’ (OTPP). Terry served on the board of HCPEA for over 6 years and was Chair from 2018 to 2020.

Prior to leading healthcare private equity, Terry led global venture capital and growth equity at OTPP. OTPP has a global portfolio in healthcare private equity, leading deals in North America, Europe and Asia.  Terry and the healthcare team led/co-led investments including:  Inc Research, Amica Senior Lifestyles, Heartland Dental, Asia Pacific Healthcare Group, Phynet Dermatology, PetVet Care Centers, Acorn Health, Nvision Eye Centers, and Abano Healthcare. Terry has a Ph.D. from McGill University and an MBA from Michigan State.

Diane Daych

Diane Daych is a Managing Partner and Co-Founder at Granite Growth Health Partners. She has more than 30 years of investing, advisory and operating experience, with more than 25 years of experience in the health services industry investing in growth companies that offer specialized solutions for the financing, management and delivery of healthcare. Before founding Granite Growth, Diane led Apple Tree Partners’ healthcare services investing team. From 2010 to 2012, she was a managing director and co-head, Private Equity, of the Marwood Group. Previously, since 2000 she was a partner and principal at CCP Equity Partners.  Diane currently sits on the Board of Directors of CleanSlate Outpatient Addiction Medicine, QualDerm Partners, Three Oaks Hospice, the National Venture Capital Association, the Tuck Center for Private Equity and Venture Capital and is a past Chair of the Healthcare Private Equity Association.

Diane earned an MBA from the Tuck School at Dartmouth College and a BA in Economics from Lehigh University.

Paige Daly is a Partner at Harvest Partners which she joined in 2010. She concentrates on growth capital, buyout, and recapitalization investments in healthcare and consumer businesses. Prior to joining Harvest, Ms. Daly was a Partner at Apax Partners.
